Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Hivin, a cofounder-matching platform operated by Hivin, based in Tallinn, Estonia ("Hivin", "we", "us"). By creating an account or otherwise using Hivin, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. The service

Hivin helps builders find people to start companies with. You answer a questionnaire that produces your Anima profile, you are matched with other builders, and you can send connection requests and messages, take part in Rituals with your connections, and receive Growing reflections. We may add, change or remove features over time.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use Hivin. By using the service you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you give us, including your name, email address and profile details, is accurate and kept up to date. You may hold only one account, and you may not create an account on behalf of someone else.

3. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that happens under your account. Tell us promptly at hello@hivin.ai if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission. You can stop using Hivin and ask us to delete your account at any time.

4. Acceptable use

Hivin only works if builders can trust each other. When using the service you agree not to:

• harass, threaten, abuse, discriminate against or intimidate other builders;
• impersonate any person or misrepresent who you are, your experience or your affiliations;
• send spam, unsolicited advertising, or bulk or automated messages;
• scrape, crawl, copy or harvest profiles, messages or other data from the service, or use bots or other automated means to access it;
• upload or share content that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, infringing or otherwise harmful;
• attempt to probe, disrupt, overload or bypass the security of the service; or
• use Hivin for any purpose other than finding and building relationships with potential cofounders and collaborators.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of the content you provide to Hivin, including your profile, questionnaire answers, messages, and Ritual and Growing responses ("Your Content"). You grant Hivin a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, process, reproduce and display Your Content for the purpose of operating and improving the service, including showing your profile and Anima to other builders so that matching works. This licence ends when Your Content is deleted from the service, except where it has been shared with other builders (for example, messages you have sent) or where we must retain it by law.

You are responsible for Your Content and confirm that you have the right to share it. We may remove content that breaches these Terms.

6. AI-generated reflections

Some features, such as Growing reflections, are generated automatically using artificial intelligence from your own answers and activity. These reflections are provided for information and self-reflection only. They may be incomplete or inaccurate and are not professional, legal, financial, psychological or business advice. Do not rely on them as a substitute for advice from a qualified professional.

7. No guarantee of a match or outcome

Hivin suggests matches based on the information builders provide, but we do not guarantee that you will be matched with anyone, that a connection will be accepted, or that any partnership will succeed. We do not verify the identity, background or claims of every builder. You are solely responsible for your interactions with other builders and for any decision to work with them, both on and off the platform.

8. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close your account, or restrict your access to some features, if you breach these Terms, if your use creates risk or legal exposure for Hivin or other builders, or if we are required to do so by law. Where reasonable, we will tell you why. You may close your account at any time. Sections 5 (to the extent content has been shared), 6, 7, 9 and 10 survive termination.

9. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

Hivin is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of fitness for a particular purpose, availability or accuracy. To the maximum extent permitted by Estonian law, Hivin will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, for loss of profits, revenue, data or business opportunities, or for the conduct of other builders. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including liability for intent or gross negligence, or your rights as a consumer.

10. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Estonia. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the service will be resolved by the courts of Tallinn, Estonia (Harju County Court), unless mandatory consumer protection law gives you the right to bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change is material, we will make reasonable efforts to let you know. Continuing to use Hivin after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
